take flight
I'd rather be original, but sometimes things are popular for a reason, maybe symbolically, but also, just because they look good. Like images of birds and wings, I'm not sure if I'll ever get a tattoo or not, but if I did, it would have a bird, or some kind of object, maybe a feather, or dreamcatcher on it. Before I do a big post however, I just want to share this tattoo with you, because quite honestly I would get this done tomorrow.

taylor swift
I found this collection of images on once again, my new creative hub of images - weheartit.com, once again, please follow me - weheartit.com/aliceswinter. Anyway, Taylor Swift is beautiful, not in keeping with my classic indie girl fad, but the complete opposite, pink, sparkly and supremely girlish. But I do love these images, they are unique and in a rare collection for an internet site. But I thought they were natural. Unplugged from her mic and just being Taylor, in my eyes.
enjoy!

we are not so different, you and i.
This fashion story, partly from Vogue, the others in the water posted by the same person, show a haunting beauty which for some reason, was less about the fashion, and more about the models this time. It felt like some kind of witch-craft or magical bond between the girls. The posing is careless and unknowingly loose. Which, in term makes it all the more natural. I just wanted to share these pictures, once again, from weheartit.com.
We Heart it.

New rules
Sometimes blogging is just thoughts in pictorial form. I however am typing on an iPad so I have no real way of getting any pictures right now,so apologies there. I know I have zero followers but I have some comfort in the fact my page views are really high so thanks! I was going to say, or rather talk about my new swimming club and how 5am sessions were murder and anyone thinking of it needs to have consistently high levels discipline. Which I have none of. But, that's just plain boring, but I am also very sorry I have't posted, with a combination of a fucked computer and a crashed internet, it's been too hard to make posts so this is quicker. But, I will be back!

Some Atonement
I love the scene with Robbie Turner walking through the poppies the movie as part 2 in the novel.
This is only a short one but I have just finished Atonement and I have to say Ian Mcewan is my new favourite authur of the minute along with Tolkien, Stephen King ect... I love the film not being able to refrain myself when it came out from seeing it before reading it. They say thats signing your own death wish as far as enjoying the novel after watching the film, however I loved the book and film for different reasons.
I love Keira Knightly, Remola Garai and Jame Mcavoy, and especially Saoirse Ronan who is a 17 yr old beauty who I cannot wait to see in Hanna having seen The Lovely Bones (having not read the novel, its staring at me from the bookshelf!). However Knightly looks especially elegant and just beautiful in this movie so I couldn't help but show of that lovely green dress.
Just thought this was a funny shot :)

The Real Aurora...
I thought because it was in my name, I considered the name of the blog which - I may very well get board of and change - actually does mean something to me it's not just a mix of words. Each mean something.
I will do a page on January Jones because I do love her, however I wanted the Aurora to be in the name because it is one of the things I most want to see in my life-time and I believe the magnetic field is arguably the most beautiful sight on earth.
The Aurora is generally considered a light display in the sky.
Generally found in the polar regions the Aurora Borealis is usuallu known as the Northern Lights because of the luminous and colourful vibrant glow the Aurora lights up the sky. I think this is one of earth's most beautiful things which is completely untouched by air pollution as it is found in the coldest regions where air pollution is at a minimum because of the extreme climate.
But, this also represents my favourite time of the day. The belief of the Romans was always quite facinating and still lives on today, the goddess of dawn was named Aurora so the Romans near the magnetic pole if the sun was rising in a different direction dawn would be seen on the northern horizon as the greeney red, glow therefore, dawn was seen in this way. So the northern lights were named after what the Romans thought was dawn and the goddess of dawns name was used. Reading a photography magazine in Summer the best time to shoot is either the sunset or just dawn, early in the morning.
So, I felt it was quite magical and though it is not real I sometimes am swayed by belief in magic from natural occurances and the main one is the Aurora.
January links to dawn. The start of the year. The start of everyday. the very first dawn of the very first day of the year. Even the very first time the earth saw the sun rise. I like to imagine it was something as magical as the Aurora.
Besides that I would love to be named after either Aurora of January. But one person I love with a fantastic name is January Jones.

Driftwood and Trickets
I liked the colour of the sky at this time of night. It was about 6pm and in early summer when the sun is blocked by the house, the sky is a lovely dim blue. I wanted to try the depth-of-field so using the small book I go some nice effects. The framed undeveloped photo was against a lamp-light which made some interesting shots, I just wanted to share it.
